Blog Post #4: Attempting to use Audacity

Oh boy, I had to use a new technology today.  Even worse, I didn’t budget much time for this. So this was quite an experience.

I went home for the weekend, so I decided to interview my mom about the way that my dad dresses. We were both pretty awkward about being recorded, which I’m sure you can hear. I kept it short because she was a bit apprehensive about being interviewed. She was afraid someone would put it on Youtube and laugh at her, so don’t do that I guess? Please don’t make my mom a meme.

I had to amplify my mom’s voice because I think she was a bit further from my computer than I was. I also cut out some laughing. Also, I don’t think the sound quality is all that great, but I think that may be because my computer is old, and the microphone may not be the best. If anyone knows if there’s something I can do to make the sound quality sound a bit better, let me know.

Hi, Kathryn. I wonder what your father thought about this interview? You and your mother did a fine job. I am glad Audacity worked for you. Did you find it relatively painless to learn and use? Dr. Brown

    Hello Fellow Kathryn!

I think it is really cool that you interviewed your mom. (I told my mom I was doing a project on the 80’s and she started showing me a bunch of pictures.) I could hear y’all just fine so I wouldn’t worry too much about the sound quality.

I found it hilarious that your mom mentioned your dad wearing shirts with holes in them. My parents fight every so often because my mom tries to throw out all my dad’s old shirts with holes. My mom usually wins though, and it sounds like that is also the case in your house.

    Adios!
